Patch Changelog for June 2nd, 2020

An overview of this week’s update to the Ultima Online: Serpent Isle server. A client update is not required this week.

This list is not exhaustive, however it does outline some of the biggest changes this server has seen since it launched.

General

  • Server era has been changed from STYGIAN ABYSS to RENAISSANCE.
  • A level system has been implemented for PCs, Pets, and Mobs.
  • Players now start with a Sheet to view levels.
  • Mobs will now display their level.

  • Goblins have been rebalanced worldwide.
  • Lizardmen near the Gorlab Swamp have been rebalanced.

Moonshade

  • Mortegro now has a proper selection of Necromancy spells.
  • Torrissio had a similar rewrite of his Mystic spells.
  • Gustacio has paid his debt to society and the Rangers will no longer try to kill him.

  • Resolved a bug with the Serpent Jawbone that would sometimes cause it to lose teeth.
  • Resolved a bug in both the Ship Travel and the Dream Lands systems that would result in players having extra mounts.
  • Resolved a bug with hunger/thirst regen in taverns that would cause it to turn off once either value hit 20.

World

  • Cleaned up a lot of ugly map errors and coastlines.
  • Repaired a couple of map errors that prevented one from descending staircases.

Server Update – April 2020

Ultima Online: Serpent Isle has been chugging along steadily since the last update. While real-life business has kept me from the update schedule I was on, I do maintain the server to make sure players can adventure in Serpent Isle.

Since the new year, I have been looking to move the server from my home server to a professional host, and I’m happy to share that this has been completed. We’re now running on a VPS in New York City with 99.9% uptime and enough resources for the current player base. And of course, things can always be upgraded down the line, if need be.

  • Waterskins can now be used multiple times before running empty.
  • Footstep SFX now covers all ground types.
  • Resolved an issue where ship ticket vendors did not sell the correct tickets.

World

  • Players now passively regain Thirst and Hunger while visiting taverns.
  • Pet leashes for shrinking mounts/pets/sellswords can now be purchased from the Sleeping Bull Stables and all provisioners.
  • Barbers will now respond to ‘Vendor Haircut’ or ‘Vendor Shave.’
  • Brushes, Razors, and Barber Scissors purchase prices have been cut 90%.

Monitor

  • Increased gold reward for the Goblin Slayer quest.
  • Increased gold reward for the Crypts Arise quest.
